Band Plaid

Princeton!

I graduated from Princeton University in 1991. My major was Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering, my residential college was Rockefeller, and my eating club was Colonial.

But I spent most of my time with the Band, since it was much more fun than thermodynamics, and because orange-and-black plaid wool blazers and straw boater hats are such the cool thing to wear. I played sax and sometimes accordion, and I was even a pretty darn good drillmaster. And in November 1996, the PUB won the first ESPN Battle of the Bands; we can now say with some sort of official backing (rather than with simply a sneaking suspicion), that the PUB is the best college band in the country! Just the thing to make an old alum proud.

Princeton alums! Register with TigerNet - The Princeton Alumni Email Directory. Or just browse, if you've already registered. I hope to see you all at Reunions! (Ahh, Reunion memories...)

Princeton University is located in Princeton, New Jersey, which is halfway between New York and Philly, and is probably one of the prettiest towns in America, which is appropriate, since the University has probably one of the prettiest campuses in America. Take that, Yale. Band Plaid

Reunions memories 1997:
getting about 30 back for our sixth reunion
the ninth one I've gone to in a row
our centrally located huge dorm room (411 1901) behind the speakers
the spiteful 5th-reunion crew waking us up at 9:30am with said speakers
Kate and Natasha and Katie for being such great temporary roommates
are those cockroaches in the room, Sue?
the outdoor orchestra concert (including a great wedding song)
the amazing fireworks
that gorgeous woman with the backless, braless top at the 5th
lots of good-looking people in general
good beer at the 5th!! (did hell freeze over that weekend?)
never got around to sharing that cigar with Roni
Kate, the aphrodisiac
who were those green guys?
dancing to a great eighties cover band (The Breakfast Club) all Saturday night
are you sure this is 1938 Hall, Laura?
never before saw a guy vomit and walk at the same time so casually
reusing film can save money, Rodney, but the pictures won't come out that good
milk-punch brunch and lots of free food at Colonial
Janice and Sue were in Colonial?
carrying the 1991 banner along with Bruce
Jordan helping ease my banner burden
Sue accompanying me in the P-Rade down to her class
I hope I can walk the P-Rade at my 75th reunion!
young fresh friendly Band members
and Irwin, as always
I still think our 5th-reunion plaid flannels are great!
at least one member of the class of 1987 wore nothing under his kilt
where was Brooke for her 10th?
where was David Duchovny for his 15th?
where was James Baker for his 45th?
where was Jimmy Stewart for his 60th?
where was F. Scott Fitzgerald for his 80th?
OK, F. Scott is dead, but at least one of his classmates could come
And last, but not least, Amy and and Allison and Andy and Becca and Cindy and Davina and Denise and Denise and Donna and Doug and Erika and Francesca and Jack and Johann and John and John and Jon and Jon and Jonathan and Karen and Kent and Mark and Mark and Meredith and Mike and Nancy and Sean and Sharon Beth and Steph and Ted and Will and Will and everyone else for helping make Reunions great!
