Worcester - A Pronunciation Guide
- Worcester is pronounced just like they do in England: "WOOS-ter", with
the "OO" in "WOOS" like the "OO" in "BOOK", not like the "OO" in
"BOOM".
- Many places in England are named after cities and towns in
Massachusetts, you know.
- Anyway, with the Massachusetts accent, it sounds more like WOOS-tah or
WOOS-tuh or even WISS-tah.
- But it's DEFINITELY NOT "WOR-sess-ter" or "WOR-ches-ter."
There is no "h" in "Worcester!
